SportsPulse: Nancy Armour puts into perspective a historic night for sports in America. As she puts it, the days of athletes being one-dimensional entertainers is over for good.

The Florida house where not one but two of the greatest sports stars in history have lived could be yours … for the low price of $29 million.

Hall of Fame New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter and his wife Hannah officially put their 33,000-square foot Tampa, Florida, mansion up for sale on Tuesday. The $29 million asking price makes it one of the most expensive in Tampa Bay history, according to Bob Glaser, CEO of Smith & Associates Real Estate, the firm handling the listing.

Of course, there’s this little matter of the house currently being occupied by future Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady, who began renting the place in April, shortly after joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a free agent.

But don’t worry, Brady and his family won’t be kicked to the curb. Or into the water.

Jeter, now the CEO and part-owner of the Miami Marlins, has “negotiated favorable terms” with Brady so he can market and sell the property, real estate company spokesperson Sarah Lesch told the Tampa Bay Times.

The seven-bedroom house overlooking Hillsborough Bay was custom-built in 2012. It features eight full bathrooms, an entertainment room, billiards room, wine cellar, an 80-foot long saltwater lap pool and two boat lifts that open into Tampa Bay.

Jeter lived at the Davis Island estate during the baseball offseasons before taking over the Marlins and moving to Miami.

“Davis Islands provided a quiet, safe, and friendly lifestyle that we will always cherish,” he said in a statement.
